Transformation Truth #1

Either you are truly moving forward or you aren’t.

posted on January 14, 2008

A new friend, Brendon Burchard just sent me “8 Transformation Truths for 2008”. Reading them made me realize how pertinent most of them are to your health and longevity. I will share a few with you over the next few weeks starting with this gem - and with my comments:

Transformation Truth #1: Either you are truly moving forward or you aren’t.

We were all born to move forward: to crawl, to walk, to run, to grow, to push ourselves diligently toward our destinies and dreams. Unfortunately, many of us have let our fears and the need for safety weigh us down. We’ve stopped taking the leaps and bounds and chances needed to get us closer to the life we desire. Tragically, too many of us have settled into jobs that lead nowhere, relationships that sink our spirits, and habits that hold us back. To prevent that or become more focused, ask yourself these simple questions on a regular basis: Have I been charging ahead in life, standing still, or falling behind? Am I truly moving forward toward my dreams, or am I simply conning myself into believing that I’m just “waiting for the right time to make my move”? What do I need to do today to boldly start moving forward in life?”

NOTE: You are moving forward every day… in time. According Sir Arthur Eddington, the father of astrophysics, and according to the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, systems fall apart with the passage of time. It’s called entropy. Eddington calls it “Time’s Arrow”. On a personal level, that means we age. We gradually deteriorate until we die. Our challenge is to reverse this process so that we continue to thrive. It’s a HUGE challenge, but I believe it is doable in our lifetime.

Now getting back to Brendon’s analysis, whether we are charging ahead in life, standing still or falling behind, we are all (adults) falling behind biologically. If your dream is renewed youth and vitality, a greatly extended healthy lifespan, then what are you doing to make it happen? Are you taking charge of your health to increase your odds of staying alive and healthy until future technologies will extend your healthy lifespan even more? Do you contribute to the research, either financially or intellectually? Do you donate any of your time and talents to Maximum Life Foundation, The Methuselah Foundation, etc? In other words, are you moving forward boldly in life to help insure your longevity?
