Priceless Publicity

You’ve read and heard a lot about a handful of researchers who have taken the high publicity road, notably Aubrey de Grey. Whatever you think about the merits of SENS (I enthusiastically support most of it), you must admit he has drawn a lot of attention to the prospect of indefinite youthful lifespans in our lifetime. Ditto for Ray Kurzweil although Ray is a prolific inventor, theoretician and advocate rather than a researcher. He contributes to the big picture in other ways. They are two of my heroes due to their intellectual contributions as well as to the priceless publicity they generate.

But they are not my only heroes. Hundreds of major productive scientists slowly grind it out in elative obscurity. From time to time, one surfaces with a breakthrough after decades of brain sweating research. Some major contributors will never be heard of outside the life extension or related communities. My hat is off to them all, and your life and well being may depend on their quiet steady efforts.

Maximum Life Foundation is about ferreting out the most promising and supporting them in one way or another. We will begin a focused fundraising campaign early this year. With a bit of luck, we’ll help some of this groundbreaking research bear fruit in time to benefit you in a big way.
